Rick Pescatore, D.O. is a board-certified emergency physician, the Editor-in-Chief of Emergency Medicine News, and the founder and CEO of BellyMD, a gut-brain health company in Philadelphia.

Rick Pescatore, D.O. is a board-certified emergency physician, the Editor-in-Chief of Emergency Medicine News, and the founder and CEO of BellyMD, a gut-brain health company in Philadelphia. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he served in the Navy’s nuclear submarine community before training in emergency medicine at Cooper University Hospital, where he was chief resident. He served as Chief Physician of the Delaware Division of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, has authored thirty-three peer-reviewed publications and procedural chapters of the Merck Manual, and was named to EMRA’s 45 Under 45 in emergency medicine. He continues to practice in community emergency departments in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.
